Intel’s latest chip Core i9-9900K is a 64-bit 8-core microprocessor based on the Coffee Lake microarchitecture. It is created on Intel’s 3rd generation enhanced 14nm++ process. The i9-9900K runs at 3.6GHz with a Turbo Boost frequency up to 5 GHz. It also supports up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR4-2666 memory. The i9-9900K also packs in Intel’s UHD Grpahics 630 IGP operating at 350 MHz with a burst frequency of 1.2 GHz.

The best gaming CPU will be at a cost. The i9-9900K is expensive. Amazon is listing the CPU for $529.89.

If we take a look at the i9-9900K vs i7-9700K, there is a $119.90 price difference. Although the i7-9700K lacks the 16 threads the i9-9900K has. The i7-9700K is listed at $409.99 on Amazon at the time of this writing. The average user bench according to UserBenchmark is that the i9-9900K is about 5% faster (effective speed) than the i7-9700K.

The i9-9900K vs i7-8700K is almost the same story. The i9-9900K is about 11% faster (effective speed) than the i7-8700K according to UserBenchmark. With a base frequency of 3.7 GHz the i7-8700K is much cheaper. Amazon has it listed at $369.99.

If you are a hardcore gamer, gamer enthusiast, Intel fanboy, or just have a burning desire to have the best CPU for gaming, the i9-9900K is for you. This is the absolute best CPU for gaming for 2019. (March 21, 2019 time stamp). And if you are a streamer than this CPU is a win-win. It can handle streaming and your favorite intensive game. If money was not an issue, then by all means get this chip. But if you are on a budget and still want a great value, AMD Ryzen 2700X priced at $289.99 is the choice for you. According to UserBenchmark the i9-9900K is 20% faster (effective speed) than the 2700X.
