Has Apple Lost Its Way?
Apple Watches, iPad mini’s, iPad Pros, iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7Plus. So many different apple products. The focus has been lost. No more real visionary. Has Tim Cook reached his limit? The new macbok’s might be a failure? They are for the creatives? What about all the missing ports? Apple really needs to rethink its way. Microsoft Studio was just announced, and Apple only had a little Touchbar that they added to their macbooks.
With Steve Jobs gone, Apple has strayed away from its path. Apple’s visionary leader is gone. What does that mean? Steve Jobs always constantly reminding his team about Apple’s vision. And that was to make truly great products that people love. He was the person that kept everyone in line when they went off the path. That was Steve’s job. He had the courage to tell everyone that the product was shit. He didn’t care what other people thought about him. He didn’t give a fuck. All he cared about was if the product was truly remarkable. He wasn’t afraid of telling someone that their idea was stupid or didn’t care to hurt anyone’s feeling. He felt that “the work” was more important, “the product” was more important. He was a true leader, and it’s very hard to be a true visionary leader because most people want other people to like them. Steve didn’t care. That takes strong leadership. And that’s what makes Steve Job’s so great.
People always wonder what did Steve Jobs do? He was a product lover, he knew his audience well, he was a great user of products. He was like everyone else, except that he had great insights and inputs to make products better. What did he want to do? He wanted to make Apple last, he wanted the brand to be forever, legendary, to truly become something people love. I hope Apple will find its way again. It won’t be long until other companies will have truly better products if Apple keeps this up.
