VIZIO P-Series Comes Equipped With Google Cast.
VIZIO is taking a new step with their new line up P -Series TVs. They are getting ride of the stock TV software that all TV manufacturers provide and going with Google Cast. They completely removed the other TV “software” and just made their TV based on Google Cast. Which is a big step in TV tech -it’s like the software in the TV is becoming more like the software on our phones. TVs of the future will be powered by Google Cast. And it’s already begun with VIZIO P-Series. The new VIZIO also comes with its own android tablet for a remote. Other TV companies like LG have their own version of TV software -LG’s called webOS -they bought the software from HP (Palm) and used it for their popular TVs.
There are other tv “add ons” like Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire, WD TV media player – there are a lot of choices out there that are fighting for your TV.
I think VIZIO and LG and SAMSUNG are trying to bypass all the other TV add ons by updating their own TV software. However, their TV software is not as good as other TV add ons (apple TV, Chromecast, etc). The only thing that comes close to getting rid of the TV add ons is LG’s webOS. WebOS is probably the best TV software out there that gets rid of the TV add ons.
Who will ultimately end up on your TV and in your living room? Will it be Google’s Cast? VIZIO thinks so.
