Old Game Boy Hacked With Raspberry PI.
This old game boy was hacked with raspberry pi to get hundreds of games. Check out his full guide on how to make this hacked game boy. Here is a list of parts you need if you are interested in creating one of your own.
- Game Boy DMG-01: check ebay, or your local used/retro game shop. I HIGHLY recommend finding a broken one for a couple of reasons: they will usually be cheaper, and there are only a finite number of these things in existence, so it would be kind of a shame to tear apart a perfectly good, working-order one for this project. Just look for one that looks like it’s in decent shape but the screen doesn’t work anymore or something.
- NES Controller: again, keep an eye on ebay or your local used/retro game shop. Busted up ones are recommended because all we need from it is the buttons. You can also easily find spare NES buttons on ebay/amazon if you don’t care about them being real original NES ones.
- Raspberry Pi Zero: hard to find right now, you can keep an eye on what sites have them in stock here: http://rpi0.satanowski.net.

- Teensy LC (without pins): http://www.amazon.com/PJRC-Teensy-LC/dp/B00VAZDRJ0
- L/R buttons: I got them from Radio Shack but these buttons look almost identical: http://www.amazon.com/9-5mm-Momentary-Tactile-Button-Switch/dp/B008420WOA
- A tiny USB hub: this is the one I used: http://www.amazon.com/Targus-4-Port-Black-Gray-ACH114US
- Some resistors and a capacitor for audio out on the Pi Zero: 150 Ohm resistor, 270 Ohm resistor, 33nF capacitor (10nF will work fine as well if that’s easier to find)
- Some wire (I scavenged mine from old IDE cables)
