Xbox Put a Working Series X Inside a Giant Fake Alligator. The Controller Has Bite Marks.
Somewhere, someone is about to tell their roommate, “Good news, I won an Xbox,” and leave out the part where it’s more than five feet long and has teeth. On November 3, Xbox unveiled the Series X-BITE, a one-of-a-kind console built to look like a Florida alligator swallowed a Series X whole. The giveaway is open now, so you have a few days to enter and figure out how to explain this to the people you live with.
1. The controller tells you how dinner went
Look between the gator’s jaws. Wedged inside is a custom wireless controller covered in bite marks. Farther back, a glowing Xbox logo gives you a peek at the console inside its body. You can work out the entire sequence of events from those two details alone. The console went down fine. The controller put up a fight.
2. The people who made it have actual dinosaur credentials
Xbox brought in John Nolan Studio, whose creature work includes Jurassic World Dominion and The Witcher. The team modeled the gator in 3D, sculpted it, and gave its eyes green irises with pupils shaped like the Xbox logo. Imagine spending your workday trying to get a reptile’s eyes anatomically just wrong enough for somebody to recognize the brand.
3. The funniest detail is buried in the fine print
There’s a functioning Series X in there. Xbox also ends its announcement with four words worth reading before you rearrange the living room: “Best as display only.” Fair enough. Once your gaming setup has a snout, asking which way to point the HDMI cable feels like a conversation you should’ve had earlier.
4. Someone actually gets to take this thing home
To enter, follow @Xbox on X, Instagram, or TikTok, repost the official giveaway post, and type #XbiteSweepstakes into the repost yourself. Your account needs to be public. Entries close November 10 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, and the potential winner has 48 hours to respond. Official sweepstakes rules
Personally, I’d put it just far enough behind the couch that guests can see the tail, then wait for somebody to ask where I keep the Xbox.
